CHINA RUSSIA & AMERICA
TWO Talks on CHINA, exploring President Xi Jinping’s stated aim for the CCP -Communist Party of China – to “Make China Great Again” with all the inherent dangers for America and the West.
“East & West, North & South – the Party leads everything”
Xi Jinping is most powerful Chinese leader since Mao. He is reinforcing CCP’s leadership & control of every aspect of Chinese life. His policy of ‘Zero Covid’ on which he has staked reputation is entering its 34th month. The strains are beginning to show.
Remember it was Western Capitalism, not Communism, that made China the World’s Factory and built today’s global economy which then restored China to Big Nation status.

TWO Talks on RUSSIA, focused on Vladimir Putin’s policies and Russia’s humiliation in the Ukraine, with its possible consequences for Europe in the long term. That is unless Big Nation Politics are brought into play?.
EUROPE & NATO- lessons from Ukraine
Europe’s collective response to Russia’s ‘Invasion of Europe’, has demonstrated NATO’s capacity to deter further Russian aggression. From Iceland to the Black Sea, Europe’s defenses were quickly and effectively strengthened. Proof that in decades since the Cold War, our taxpayer dollars have been well spent. Today’s ‘shooting war’, shows Russian military strategy is unchanged since Soviet Union and that corruption is endemic. In Russia nothing really changes.

MOSCOW and KIEV – BIG NATION POLITICS
Russia’s seizure of Crimea, followed by invasion of Ukraine are rooted in history. History which also holds Putin captive. Big Power Politics means a Russian defeat is impossible, but then so is a Ukrainian victory. A weakened Russia could be dangerous for everyone. Ukraine’s continued military success might generate a Russian nuclear strike? How will America and NATO respond? Cuba 1962? Perhaps Ukraine should learn from Finland? How to end it? An EU negotiated UN supervised ceasefire, followed by an EU negotiated JCPOA 2015 type Agreement endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution.? Chinese intervention possible.?

THEN, EXPLORING THE SOURCE OF AMERICA’s POWER IN TODAYS GLOBAL WORLD.
THE MIGHTY DOLLAR -America’s hidden weapon
US global leadership rests today, not on military strength but on the monopoly of the US dollar as the lifeblood of a global economy. WTO says 80% of world trade is in dollars. Over 50% of all dollars issued are held outside USA. Dollars are 70% of cash reserves world’s central banks. Then there is FACTA & CAATSA. What is SWIFT? The BIS?

CHINA – The World’s Factory
Mao’s victory in 1947 was a surprise. Nixon’s 1972 China visit and Deng’s 1979 State Visit to US, opened China to the World. Western Capitalism, not Communism then made China the World’s Factory of our global economy. But now 34 months of ‘Zero Covid’ is slowing China’s growth and frustrating the new Urbanites who are the beneficiaries of that growth. Perhaps there is trouble ahead?

Mother Russia and Putin’s people
Russia is the largest country on earth. A vast empire stretching across Central Asia from Poland to the Sea of Japan. Ruled today, as always, from the Kremlin in Moscow. For centuries, as it does today, its history and geography regulates the lives of ordinary Russians and the international politics of the government.

Vladimir Putin – a Prisoner of History
In Russia some things never change. The Soviet Union is long gone but the Russian people and their President are alive and well. The end of the Cold War offered the West an opportunity to bring Russia into our rule-based World. Instead, we squandered the ‘Peace Dividend’ and allowed NATO and the EU to “poke the eye of the Russian bear” with all today’s consequences.

Russia and NATO- lessons from Ukraine
Europe’s collective response to Russia’s shooting war has demonstrated NATO’s capacity to deter further Russian aggression. From Iceland to the Black Sea the collective response of Europe and NATO confirms that in last decades our taxpayer dollars have been well spent. But now Europe needs peace. Perhaps Ukraine and President Zelensky should learn from Helsinki?

NATO Russia and America – lessons from Ukraine
Russia’s military strategy is unchanged since the Soviet Union. The Army is corrupt and poorly commanded. The first lesson from Ukraine.
The second is that NATO’s collective response from Iceland to the Black Sea has convincingly demonstrated a capacity to deter further Russian aggression? It has also convincingly shown our taxpayer dollars were well spent?
